At the weekend a number of Phoenix players (+ Pete from City) represented Japan in the unoffical Korfball World Cup (organised by Bec Korfball club).

There were some strong teams there, with France (Trojans) beating Fiji (Mitcham) in the final.

Thanks to Pete from City for making up our numbers. Our best match of the day was a brave battle against Fiji (Mitcham) who had several england Internationals in their team. At one point the match was evenly poised at 4-3 to them, and we may have almost equalised.

Thanks to everyone who came along. I think we finished about 3/4s of the way down the rankings against some tough teams (the Japanese were never great at Korfball).

And yes we really did play with those headbands on all day :-)
